Growing up on a farm in Southern Illinois with acres to roam, my childhood world couldn’t have been any better. I lived in an area that was rich with outdoor opportunities, fishing and hunting were right outside my back door, and it’s where my love for the outdoors comes from.
Looking back, it’s easy to see how blessed I was growing up; I was born into a loving family that took concern for not only my physical well-being, but also my spiritual well being. Through my parents, I was introduced to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Undoubtedly, to this day, trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation has been the most wonderful thing to happen to me. The bible says that if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth we will be saved (Romans 10:9). I encourage anyone who does not have a relationship with Jesus Christ to do so.
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to pursue a career in the outdoors, and when or if that ever changes I hope I will realize how great it has been to have had the opportunity to do so. I thank God for the provisions he has made for me, and the peace and joy he provides for me daily. I hope you too can experience this same peace and joy in your life.
